Leadership Day

On Thursday, February 18th, Downey School is holding their 3rd Annual Leadership Day from 9:00am - 12:00pm. This is a day to visit our school, and learn about the great things at Downey.

Tutor a Student!

Downey is looking for individuals interested in working with kindergarten students one on one in the classroom. This volunteer position is flexible with your schedule as long as you can make it during school hours. Instructions will be provided by the teacher on an individual basis based on student needs. Join Downey School

this year by collecting General Mills Box Tops to benefit Downey Elementary School! Collection boxes can be found on Messiah College campus at the Student Union, Eisenhower and the Library.

The Salvation Army After-School Program

The Salvation Army After-School Program partners with Downey Elementary School to provide students with resources for their educational needs outside of the classroom. Volunteers aid teachers in tutoring students who might need some extra help and also help setup and lead their nutrition program. The nutrition program provides students with opportunities to learn and grow together as they make food, applying their math skills to measure ingredients and learn more about the food that they're eating.
