Downey School

Obtaining Clearances:

 

There are some instances in which you may be required to obtain background clearances before volunteering at Downey School. In this case, clearances must be completed and submitted to the school before your first day of volunteering. Here are the clearances you’ll need to obtain:

 

• Report of criminal history from the Pennsylvania State Police (PSP); and

• Child Abuse History Clearance from the Department of Human Services (Child Abuse).

• A fingerprint based federal criminal history (FBI) submitted through the Pennsylvania State Police or its authorized agent is required only if the volunteer has lived outside the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in the last 10 years.
